Originally from Grand Rapids, MI, USA, Christopher J. Cameron received his Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Western Michigan University in 2002 and later received his Masters Degree in Music Education/Conducting from The American Band College out of Sam Houston State University in 2010.
Christopher has been highly involved with music education for the past 9 years as a the Director of Band and Choir at Reading High School, MI, USA; The International Community School of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; and Dubai American Academy, UAE. As a percussionist, Christopher has played with several symphony orchestras since 1998 and was principal percussionist of the Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra for 5 years. He has been a guest conductor for several southwest Michigan schools and the Hillsdale Wind Symphony in Hillsdale, MI, USA. He was also the Director of the Addis Ababa Community Band for 2 years.
Christopher is affiliated with professional organizations including Percussive Arts Society, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Professional Men's Music Fraternity, Music Educator's National Conference, and the International Thespian's Society. Christopher also has 3 graduate publications: 6 Weeks to Improved Horn Playing (2007), Adventures in Oboe Playing: A Beginning Method (2009), and coming soon...International Band Method (2012).
Christopher is currently the Director of Teaching and Learning for the Centre of Musical Arts, Conductor of the Dubai Wind Band and Conductor of AUS Alumni Nassim Al Saba Choir. Christopher is passionate about teaching students and making great music together.
