Out of passion for early music, Vivace saw the light in the Fall of 2013. Taking a musical term which means “lively and spirited” as its name, Vivace is a vocal ensemble aiming to breathe life into famous, as well as obscure, Renaissance and Baroque choral works.
Ensemble Vivace currently consists of a quintet of young, enthusiastic singers: Yasmina Sabbah (Conductor/Soprano), Boran Zaza (Mezzo-soprano), Amir D. Bitar (Counter-tenor), Bassam Abboud (Tenor), and Cesar Naassy (Bass).
Last season’s concert, Magnificats, took place in June of 2014 featuring several “Magnificat” choral pieces by a selection of renowned renaissance and baroque composers such as Guerrero, Buxtehude, Humphrey, and Shütz.
In 2015, Vivace is lining up two concerts; the first (titled Love & Laments) features Italian renaissance madrigals and will take place in March; the second features Charpentier & French works and is planned to take place Later in July.
Recently, Ensemble Vivace participated in the ChoirFest – Middle East competition, which took place in Dubai between the 10th and the 15th of March, and was awarded The Patrons Award.
